This video visualises the title track of an album of electronic music, also called “Apologize to the Future,” which interrogates overpopulation, climate change, economic inequality, intergenerational injustice, the singularity, antinatalism, and human extinction. The lyrics are told from the point of view of future humans, after an ecological catastrophe caused by us in the present. “Apologize to the Future” preaches that parents should apologise to their children, because creating new humans only to abandon them on a wrecked planet is unjust, selfish, and cruel. Future generations will suffer for crimes they didn’t commit, while the perpetrators abscond, smugly dead. Chris Korda wrote the music and lyrics and collaborated with Paris-based visual artist Will Benedict (US, born 1978) to produce the video, which includes many references to the Church of Euthanasia.
